5 held for kidnapping, beating man over old rivalry in Jaipur

Jaipur: Five men were arrested Tuesday for allegedly kidnapping a man from Tonk Road, taking him to an isolated stretch near Ring Road, stripping and assaulting him, and recording the attack over an old rivalry. Police rescued the victim Alfaz Khan and seized the car and motorcycle allegedly used in the crime.

The accused are Maqsood Khan (21) of Malarna Chaur in Sawai Madhopur; Lokesh Meena alias Max (20) and Amar Singh Meena (20), both from Dausa; and Karan Meena (23) and Manish Prajapat alias MK (24), both from Jaipur district. They have been remanded to police custody for questioning.

Police said Alfaz lodged a complaint at Sanganer police station on Oct 18, alleging that he was abducted near Gaushala crossing between 4.30 pm and 5 pm. The accused allegedly took him towards Ring Road, where they beat him with a belt, kicked him in the ribs and assaulted him after stripping him.

They also allegedly recorded an obscene video and threatened him with further harm if he approached the police. Alfaz named Maqsood in his complaint, alleging that he arrived in a Swift car with two other men.

Investigators examined footage from around 200 CCTV cameras near the scene and along suspected escape routes. With help from the Jaipur East technical unit, they identified and detained the five suspects.

Police said the accused allegedly confessed to abducting Alfaz near Gaushala on Tonk Road and assaulting him near Ring Road over a rivalry dating back to Sawai Madhopur. Photographs and videos of the assault were found on their mobile phones, police said.

The police seized the car, an R15 motorcycle and sticks allegedly used in the assault.
