IISER Pune PhD admissions 2027: Applications open for January session; apply by October 25

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune has opened applications for admission to its Ph D programmes for the January 2027 session. Eligible candidates can submit their application forms through the official website, iiserpune.ac.in, by October 25, 2026.

The institute is offering Ph D admissions in several subjects, including cognitive sciences, educational psychology, design, anthropology, computer science, philosophy and history of science. Candidates should check the eligibility conditions and prepare the required documents before applying.

Applicants must have a master's degree in science or mathematics, or a four-year bachelor's degree with at least 60% aggregate marks. Candidates who have completed a four-year Bachelor of Science (BSc)-Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree, a Master of Arts (MA) in education or a BEd degree after a three-year BSc in science or mathematics are also eligible to apply.

Candidates with non-Indian passports may also apply through the institute's departmental portals if they hold Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) status and obtained their qualifying degree, equivalent to a 10+2 qualification, bachelor's degree or master's degree, while living or being domiciled in India. Candidates seeking PMRF through direct entry must first be selected for a regular Ph D programme at the institute. IISER Pune will recommend a limited number of candidates for the fellowship.

The final decision will be taken by the National Level Discipline-Specific Selection Committee. Candidates interested in Ph D admissions are advised to complete their applications by October 25 and check the institute's official website for further updates.
