Open AI is expanding the availability of its artificial intelligence (AI) models by partnering with Google Cloud. The company has announced that it will bring its frontier AI models and Codex agentic workflows directly to Google Cloud’s Model Garden.
The collaboration gives corporate customers native access to Open AI’s systems to build and deploy complex, autonomous software agents at scale, all underpinned by Google Cloud’s high-performance hardware and built-in enterprise data governance frameworks. Even as Open AI broadens its reach across competing cloud infrastructure, the company emphasised that Microsoft remains its primary cloud partner.“Google Cloud’s longstanding investment in machine learning and AI has made it a destination for AI workloads and the developers and data scientists building them.
Bringing Open AI models to its model garden gives these teams access to Open AI’s frontier models within the environment where they already work, enabling enterprises to modernize their software development lifecycle, build agentic workflows, and change how people work,” Open AI said in a statement. The integration is aimed at helping businesses modernise their software development lifecycles, engineer autonomous agentic workflows and reshape workplace productivity from within a unified interface.
Built for regulated industries and enterprise governance For organisations operating in heavily regulated sectors, such as finance, healthcare and public infrastructure, deploying generative AI requires granular oversight over data usage and strict administrative safeguards. The partnership directly addresses these requirements by pairing Open AI's models with Google Cloud's.“The integration will pair Open AI’s frontier models with Google Cloud’s built-in access controls, centralized data governance, and high-performance infrastructure to support demanding enterprise workloads,” Open AI said, adding, “Google Cloud customers will be able to purchase Open AI frontier models via model garden, transacted through the Google Cloud Marketplace.
Enterprises with Google Cloud spend commitments will be able to draw down their GCP commitments for these purchases.”Expanding across Google Antigravity and Gemini Agent The rollout will soon extend deeper into Google's productivity and agentic ecosystems. Open AI’s models are scheduled to become available within Google Antigravity and the Gemini Agent, giving enterprise clients the flexibility to select different foundation models for specific operational needs.
