Sardar 2 Reviews
Harish Napa Janakiraman5/10
The espionage action thriller attempts to expand its universe into a massive geopolitical conspiracy, but it gets severely bogged down by overambitious writing. The story wanders in far too many directions at once without ever finding a singular, cohesive focus, resulting in an overstuffed narrative that quickly loses its impact and core sense of purpose. Karthi puts in a committed, energetic performance across his dual roles, doing his best to bring intensity and emotional weight to the proceedings. S.J. Suryah brings entertaining theatricality as the antagonist, yet their dynamic frequently gets overshadowed by an endless barrage of subplots, flashbacks, and convoluted scientific concepts that lack a clear destination. The pacing suffers drastically from erratic scene transitions and a bloated runtime that tests the audience's patience. Instead of building crisp, high stakes suspense like the original, the film continuously digresses into disparate plot threads that feel utterly disconnected from each other. Despite solid production values and spirited performances, the unfocused writing turns it into a largely underwhelming and messy affair.
