How to Read a Cricket Scorecard (India Fans’ Quick Guide)

Learn batting, bowling, extras, and run-rate lines on an Indian cricket scorecard so live updates make sense.

Batting line

Runs (R), balls (B), fours, sixes, and strike rate tell how a batter scored. “Not out” means they were still batting when the innings ended. Fall of wickets shows when momentum shifted.

Bowling & extras

Overs, maidens, runs conceded, and wickets form the bowling summary. Extras (wides, no-balls, byes, leg-byes) are runs not credited to a batter. In T20, economy rate often matters as much as wickets.
