How to use Nearby ATMs
Running low on cash in an unfamiliar area is a common travel problem. This nearby ATMs tool finds ATMs around your current location or any locality in India and shows their addresses with map links, so you can reach the closest machine quickly. It also covers tips on avoiding extra charges and staying safe when you withdraw cash.
How to find ATMs near you
Use your current location or type the area, pick a radius and search. The list shows ATMs and bank branches nearby with their addresses. Open the map link to see the route and distance. A 1 km radius is usually enough in a city, while highways and small towns may need 10 km or more.
Machines can be out of service or out of cash, especially around holidays and weekends, so keep one or two backup options from the list.
- Type an area, locality or city, or use your current location if your browser allows it
- Choose a radius from 1 km to 20 km
- Open a result to see its address and a map link
Avoiding ATM charges
Your own bank’s ATM is usually free within the monthly free-transaction limit. Withdrawals from other banks’ ATMs are free for a limited number of transactions per month, after which a fee per transaction applies, and the limits differ between metro and non-metro cities. Check your bank’s current rules in its fee schedule.
Balance enquiries and mini statements may also count as transactions at other banks’ ATMs. Use your bank’s app for balance checks and use UPI for payments when possible to keep ATM use low.
- Prefer your own bank’s ATM to avoid interchange fees
- Check your bank’s monthly free-transaction limit
- Many ATMs now support cardless cash withdrawal through UPI
ATM safety tips
Choose ATMs inside bank branches or in well-lit, busy locations. Cover the keypad when entering your PIN and never accept help from strangers. Check the card slot and keypad for anything unusual, such as loose attachments, before you insert your card.
If the machine retains your card or does not dispense cash but debits your account, call your bank’s helpline immediately and note the ATM ID shown on the machine. Banks have set timelines to reverse failed transactions and pay compensation for delays.
Location, privacy and accuracy
The tool asks for your location only when you press the “use my location” option, and your browser shows its own permission prompt. If you prefer not to share GPS, type an area or city instead; the search then uses geocoding and needs no permission.
Results come from map data and can be incomplete or slightly out of date, especially in small towns and newly built areas. Always confirm opening hours, availability and the exact address by phone or on the provider’s own page before you travel.
